Yes. LOFTY WORX is legal to operate as a commerical UAS business. We are licensed and have a FAA part 107 UAS Airman Certificate. Anyone operating drones commcerially is required to have proper licenses and certificates. Commerical UAS is still a relatively new industry with policy and governing bodies being refined and established. The FAA is proactively working towards more certification and regulation so pilots can fly safely in National Airspace. As long as we operate within "Class G" airpace or "unregulated" airpace, which most of the PNW is, we are cleared. Generally, this means staying under 400 feet above ground level. If there are airspace restrictions, LOFTY WORX will research and figure out if flying is allowed or what type of clearance is needed.
This is probably the most important factor to a successful flight. A pilot needs to be responsible, understand the area of flight, check airpace clearences, check weather conditions and keep everyone in the flight area safe. Like any commercial pilot, we go through these checks and make sure our equipment is functioning properly. IF for any reason there is a reason not to fly, we will not fly. We will have to reschedule for safety.
